Tuesday

Boffer Fighting for Women etc.

Were you raised as a girl? Are you (sometimes) seen as a woman? (For example cis women, trans women, trans men, some non binary folks.) Then this is for you.

The purpose of this workshop/practice session is for you to feel comfortable hitting others with a boffer sword, to feel comfortable being hit with a boffer sword, to learn new techniques and to have fun. Both beginners and experienced fighters are very welcome.

Bring shoes suitable for moving around on grass, clothes suitable for the weather and a filled water bottle.

If possible, consider bringing a boffer sword and/or shield. We have a limited amount of weapons for loan, so if there are more participants than weapons we’ll take turns.

Accessibility: You’ll be expected to stand, walk and sometimes run a few steps. You might get a bruise or two.

Time: Tuesday afternoon

Venue: TBA when we know the weather conditions

Wednesday

Boo-boos and broken bones – planning for and dealing with LARP injuries

Alexander Arvidsson

LARPing is great fun, and with fun comes the risk of injury. Different LARPs carry different risks, and assessing and mitigating these risks can be difficult – especially if you’re responsible for a small group, perhaps with children. This session, presented by a former paramedic with long experience with LARPs and LARP-related injuries, will discuss planning and preparing for injuries and treatment as well as look at what should (and should not) go into a personal/small group first aid kit.

Preliminary timeslot: Wednesday afternoon

Improvisation Theater

Join the local group that meets once a week to play impro-games and have fun. You will be guided through some games and exercises to get your improvisation going and get to improvise scenes together. The focus is to have fun and do whatever comes up in your mind.
