Under the ash clouds of Eyjafjallajökull
Due to the ash clouds over northern Europe many of you have problems with planning and re planning your journey to Knutpunkt.
We are of course very sorry about this and hope that you will make it anyhow. Below we will try to give you some guidence on how to find alternative routes to Stockholm, Katrineholm or Fiskeboda.
But first you need to remember that Fiskeboda is not Stockholm, but 2 hours drive from it, look at the map. When your plan your trip it might be faster to get to Katrineholm directly than to Stockholm first. From Katrineholm you can be picked up by us, just e-mail our transport manager.
Our bus
The busses we have booked will leave Stockholm at 16.00 on thursday April 22. They will be back in Stockholm 16.00 on sunday April 25.
Alternative travel paths
If you to seek alternative travel paths in Sweden we recommend these services:
SJ - The Swedish railroads
SJ are running their trains with double length but are anyhow heavily booked. At the time of writing this som trains from Copenhagen to Stockholm on wednesday are still available and many seats on thursday is available but that might change fast.
Swebus
Busses that drives from a lot of places in Europe to Sweden. You can for example get a bus that leaves 8:50 from Copenhagen and arrives 17:10 in Norrköping. From Norrköping you can then take the train (pre-buy tickets at www.sj.se) to Katrineholm that departs17:22 and arrive 17:43. The Swebuses are still relatively cheap, but takes a lot of time. Swebus are also trying to compensate by adding extra buses.
From Katrineholm to Fiskeboda
If your route takes you to Katrineholm and want to be picked up at the train station please e-mail our transport manager, otherwise cabs are available and not too expensive if you fill one up. You can also take the local buses to Forsbron or Äsköping and be picked up there.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Elin, our transport manager, and she will try to help you.
If you are in need of accomodations in Stockholm before or after Knutpunkt you can send an email to the Week In Stockholm and ask the Week in crew if they have any suggestions.
Lots of love,
/Anders & Anna
