The Oslo LarpFactory
Type of program item:
SpeakerPeople i think will like this event are:
People who want to build a playerbase for shorter games in their local gamescene People who want to talk strategy on how to co-operate for both smaller and larger games in the future. In the end, how small games are bricks to build the castle of enthusiasm and recruitment to bigger and better games.Description of the event
and how we went about to build a playerbase and start producing one larp each month.
Main thing will be the designconcepts for short games.
Going into the conceptual differences of our games in relation to the
challenge of short games + our golden rule of "NO preparations from the players"
thoughts include the important pre-brief/workshop with players, how it affects the design of the game,
minimizing text, costumes, conceptual scenography, larp contra freeform, but still make it feel like larp.
Some notes on
How the do-ocracy works, limits and possibilities of the production.
Documentation, How we present the games, how we work with socialmedia to recruit.
Problems we have, and how to keep doing games, without getting worn out.
Especially we have interesting conclusions on how our local larpcommunity works these days,
and how the older generation interact with the younger generation to create interesting games.
Lots of examples and reflections on what kind of people come to different games,
as the larpfactory has done everything from fantasy to jeepform, arthause, and fun games.
